Something I've just been working on.
Front and rear views of a German soldier, fighting in Normandy in 1944.
One thing I've come to appreciate is that there is not much at all that's 'uniform' about the clothing worn by soldiers in combat. You rarely see two dressed and equipped exactly the same- clothing can vary in colour and condition, equipment can be carried in endless combinations, the design and style of equipment and clothing can differ too... one of the challenges and fascinations when it comes to painting figures such as these.
