Fierce fighting erupted between Filipino and US Army forces on February 11th at Caloocan, a strategic railroad centre.
To protect the position Filipino General Antonio Luna ordered the preparation of defensive positions.
Company M, 20th Kansas Volunteer Infantry were among the attacking forces, who swept through Caloocan, overwhelming the defending Filipino force.
