A Wiard boat-howitzer is pulled and pushed by a 12-man team towards Confederate positions.
Magazine boxes carrying extra shells and fuses are strapped above the axle either side of the gun barrel.
Each man except the gun captain and second gun captain, carried a leather pouch over their shoulder containing one round for the gun.
