Soviet Project 1124 Armoured River Gunboat
T-34 turrets which provided improved firepower, replaced earlier T-28 turrets on the 99 Project 1124s built by the Soviets. The similar Project 1125s were sent to the Volga Flotilla, the vital lifeline for the Soviet soldiers defending Stalingrad. The1124s were used in the Caspian Sea Flotilla where the Germans were expected to soon be active.

Having rebuilt it's stock of armoured trains, by 1942 the USSR had 61 armoured train battalions, each with two or more trains.
Here we see a PL-12 rail gun platform with two T-34 turrets.
